DIY WEDDING VIDEO EDITING SERVICE

These terms and conditions apply to all purchases made through Love Reels. By placing an order, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms set out below. Please read them carefully before booking.

PART ONE

About the Service

1.WHAT LOVE REELS DOES

Love Reels is a remote wedding video editing service. We do not attend your wedding. Instead, your chosen guests film the day on their own smartphones, upload their footage to us, and we edit it into a highlights reel or feature film for you to keep and share.

Our role begins when you place your order and ends when your finished film has been delivered. Everything in between — assigning filmers, briefing guests, and ensuring footage is uploaded — requires your active participation to achieve the best possible result.

2.PACKAGES & PRICING

The following packages are available at the time of publication. Prices are subject to change; the price confirmed at the time of your order will be honoured.

3.WHAT IS INCLUDED

  • A filmed-it-yourself wedding highlights film or feature film, edited to the length of your chosen package.

  • A guest filming guide (PDF), sent one week before your wedding, covering filming tips, shot checklists, and up to 7 available filming roles: Getting Ready, Ceremony, Confetti, Speeches, Cake Cutting, First Dance, and Party.

  • A secure upload link, sent to your assigned filmers the day after your wedding.

  • Music selection from our licensed library, or your own selection where licensing permits.

  • One complimentary revision session of up to one hour.

  • An optional QR code for uploading, available upon request after booking.

  • Access to the raw footage uploaded by your guests via your account.

4.WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED

  • Attendance at your wedding by any Love Reels team member.

  • Professional filming, camera equipment, or on-site direction.

  • Any footage not uploaded within the agreed upload window.

  • Re-editing beyond the complimentary one-hour allowance (charged at an hourly rate — see Section 14).

  • Footage captured but not uploaded by guests.

PART TWO

Payment & Cancellation

5.PAYMENT

Full payment is taken at the time of booking via the Love Reels website. No date is held or work scheduled until payment has been received in full. All prices are listed in GBP. If you wish to pay in another currency, please contact us before placing your order.

6.CANCELLATION & REFUNDS

If you need to cancel your booking before your wedding date, you will receive a 50% refund of the amount paid. This reflects the administrative work undertaken upon booking and the opportunity cost of holding your date.

Once your wedding date has passed, all sales are final. No refunds will be issued after the wedding has taken place, regardless of the amount or quality of footage uploaded.

Refund requests must be made in writing (email is acceptable) and will be processed within 10 business days.

7.FAILED FOOTAGE UPLOAD — NO REFUND

Love Reels is entirely dependent on your guests uploading usable footage. If guests fail to upload their footage, upload insufficient footage, or upload footage that is technically unusable, this does not entitle you to a refund. We strongly encourage you to actively brief your filmers and confirm uploads have been received after the wedding.

8.RESCHEDULING

If your wedding date changes before the day itself, please notify us as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate the new date. Where rescheduling is agreed in writing prior to the original wedding date, no additional charge will apply. Rescheduling after the original wedding date has passed is not available.

PART THREE

Footage & Uploads

9.UPLOAD LIMITS

Each package includes a maximum data upload allowance. Footage uploaded beyond these limits may not be included in the edit at our discretion.

There is no limit on the number of guests who can upload footage or the number of clips they can submit, provided the total remains within the data allowance for your package.

10.UPLOAD DEADLINE & LATE SUBMISSIONS

The upload link is sent to your assigned filmers the day after your wedding. We ask that all footage is uploaded within 7 days of receiving the upload link. Footage submitted after this window may not be included in the edit, and delivery timelines cannot be guaranteed if uploads arrive late.

If you are aware that a guest needs more time to upload, please contact us as early as possible so we can accommodate where possible.

11.FOOTAGE QUALITY & USABILITY

Because footage is filmed by guests on personal smartphones, quality will naturally vary. Love Reels will work with the footage provided to produce the best possible edit; however, we cannot guarantee a specific visual standard where footage is:

  • Blurred, shaky, or out of focus

  • Filmed in very low light or in poor conditions

  • Too short, incomplete, or missing key moments

  • Recorded in a format incompatible with our editing software

  • Corrupted or damaged during upload

In the event that the uploaded footage is insufficient in quantity or quality to produce a film of the agreed length, we will contact you to discuss the best outcome. A partial refund may be offered at our discretion where the delivered film is materially shorter than the package specified.

12.FILMING ORIENTATION

For Instagram-optimised reels, we recommend that all guests film in portrait orientation. Where guests film in landscape, we will include that footage where it works within the edit, but cannot guarantee it will be suitable for all delivery formats. Please brief your filmers on your preferred orientation in advance using the guide we provide.

13.MINIMUM FOOTAGE REQUIREMENT

We recommend assigning a minimum of 3 filmers to ensure enough coverage for a quality edit. We cannot be held responsible for an insufficient or unsatisfactory film where fewer filmers are assigned, guests fail to film key moments, or footage is simply not uploaded. The filming guide we provide is designed to maximise the chances of excellent coverage — we encourage you to share it widely.

14.INAPPROPRIATE OR UNLAWFUL CONTENT

By submitting footage via the upload link, you confirm that you have the right to share that footage with us and that it does not contain any unlawful, offensive, or inappropriate content. We reserve the right to exclude any uploaded clip from the edit that we reasonably consider to be unsuitable, without notice or refund. We will never share, publish, or use footage submitted by guests for any purpose other than producing your wedding film.

PART FOUR

Audio Recording Add-On

15.THE DJI AUDIO RECORDER

Where the Audio Recording Add-On has been purchased, we will send you a DJI wireless microphone recorder prior to your wedding. This device is designed to capture high-quality audio of the ceremony and speeches, which is then synchronised with your guest footage in the edit.

16.DISPATCH & RETURN

The recorder will be dispatched to the address provided at checkout in sufficient time before your wedding. You are responsible for ensuring it is ready for use on the day and returned to us promptly after the wedding. Return instructions will be included with the device. The cost of return postage is your responsibility unless otherwise agreed.

17.CARE & RESPONSIBILITY

The DJI recorder remains the property of Love Reels at all times. You are responsible for the device from the moment it is delivered until it is returned to us. In the event of loss, theft, or damage beyond normal wear and tear, you may be charged for the cost of repair or replacement. Please treat the device with reasonable care and ensure it is securely packaged for return.

18.RECORDING PERMISSION

It is your responsibility to obtain permission from the officiant (registrar, vicar, or celebrant) to use a microphone during the ceremony. Love Reels accepts no liability if the device cannot be used due to a lack of permission, and no refund will be issued for the Add-On in such circumstances.

19.AUDIO QUALITY

While the DJI recorder significantly improves audio quality, we cannot guarantee perfect results in all acoustic environments. Factors such as background noise, strong wind, or the speaker moving away from the microphone may affect the quality of recorded audio. We will use the audio as captured and will not be liable for environmental recording conditions.

PART FIVE

Editing & Delivery

20.MUSIC

You may choose music for your film from our licensed song library (available at lovereelsweddings.com/songs), or request a specific track. Where a requested track falls outside our licensing agreements, we will advise you and suggest suitable alternatives. Music must be selected before your footage is submitted — selections made after editing has begun may not be accommodated.

All music used in your film is licensed for personal use within the delivered film. The licence does not extend to commercial use, synchronisation, or redistribution of the music independently of the film.

21.EDITING & CREATIVE DECISIONS

All creative and editorial decisions — including clip selection, sequencing, transitions, colour grading, and pacing — are made by Love Reels. Our editors will use their professional judgement to create the most engaging film possible from the footage provided.

One complimentary revision session of up to one hour is included with every package. Additional editing beyond this allowance is available and will be charged at an hourly rate, confirmed before any additional work begins.

22.DELIVERY TIMELINE

Your completed film will be delivered within 30 days of your wedding date, subject to all footage being uploaded within the required window. If footage arrives late or is submitted in large volumes requiring extended processing time, delivery may be delayed. We will communicate any delay to you as soon as it becomes apparent.

Delivery is made digitally. You will receive a link to view and download your finished film. We recommend downloading and saving a copy promptly upon receipt.

23.RAW FOOTAGE ACCESS

You will have access to the raw clips uploaded by your guests via your account. We recommend viewing your finished film first before browsing the raw footage — experiencing the edit fresh makes it all the more special. Raw footage access is provided as a courtesy and raw files are not individually colour-graded or processed.

24.FILE STORAGE

We retain uploaded footage and your finished film for a reasonable period following delivery. We cannot guarantee indefinite storage of your files. Once your film has been delivered, you are responsible for creating your own backup copies. We strongly recommend downloading your film and raw footage promptly and storing them securely.

PART SIX

Legal

25.COPYRIGHT — EDITED FILM

The finished edited film produced by Love Reels is the intellectual property of Love Reels, pursuant to the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. Upon delivery, you are granted a non-exclusive, perpetual personal licence to use the finished film for private, non-commercial purposes — including sharing on social media, with family and friends, and for personal enjoyment.

Commercial use, licensing, or redistribution of the edited film to third parties requires prior written consent from Love Reels.

26.COPYRIGHT — GUEST FOOTAGE

The raw footage uploaded by your guests remains the property of the individuals who filmed it. By submitting footage through our upload link, guests grant Love Reels a non-exclusive licence to use that footage solely for the purpose of producing your wedding film. We will not use guest footage for any other purpose without express consent.

27.GUEST DATA & PRIVACY (GDPR)

In order to send filming guides and upload links to your assigned filmers, we require their email addresses. By providing guest contact details to us, you confirm that you have obtained their consent for us to contact them in connection with your wedding film.

Guest data will be used solely for the purposes of delivering the service and will not be shared with any third party, sold, or used for marketing purposes without explicit consent. All data is processed in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

28.YOUR PERSONAL DATA

Any personal information you provide — including your name, email address, wedding date, and delivery address — will be collected and used solely for the purposes of fulfilling your order and communicating with you about your film. You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us directly.

29.PORTFOLIO & MARKETING

Love Reels may use clips or excerpts from completed wedding films in our portfolio, website, and social media channels to showcase the service. If you would prefer your film to remain private and not be used for promotional purposes, please let us know in writing at the time of booking and we will respect that preference fully.

30.SOCIAL MEDIA

You are warmly encouraged to share your film on social media and to tag us when you do. We would love to see it! We simply ask that the film is shared as delivered and is not substantially re-edited or altered in a way that misrepresents the original work.

31.LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Love Reels' liability is limited to the fees paid for the specific service. We are not liable for:

  • Any failure to deliver a film due to insufficient, unusable, or late-uploaded footage from your guests.

  • Any data loss occurring after your film has been delivered to you.

  • Any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss arising from use of the service.

  • Technical issues with third-party upload platforms, delivery links, or your own devices.

  • The quality of footage filmed on guests' personal smartphones.

This does not affect any statutory rights you may have as a consumer under UK law.

32.FORCE MAJEURE

Love Reels shall not be liable for any failure to deliver the service where this results from circumstances genuinely beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: significant technical failures, natural disasters, or other extraordinary events. We will notify you promptly and work to find a fair resolution where possible.

33.ACCURACY OF INFORMATION

You are responsible for providing accurate information at the time of booking, including your wedding date, delivery address (for the Audio Add-On), and guest contact details. Love Reels cannot be held responsible for issues arising from incorrect or incomplete information provided by you.

34.DISPUTE RESOLUTION

We genuinely want every couple to love their film. If you have a concern about the service, please contact us directly in the first instance and we will do our best to resolve it. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, both parties agree to attempt mediation before pursuing formal legal action.

35.GOVERNING LAW

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any unresolved disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

36.CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We reserve the right to update these terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your booking will apply to your order. Material changes will be communicated where relevant.

PART SEVEN

Your Responsibilities — A Quick Checklist

To give your film the best possible chance of being everything you hope for, here's what we need from you:

  • Assign your filmers early — at least 2–3 dedicated filmers covering different parts of the day.

  • Share the filming guide we send you one week before the wedding with all assigned guests.

  • Brief your guests on filming orientation (portrait is recommended for reels), key moments to capture, and the importance of uploading promptly.

  • Chase uploads the day after the wedding — remind your filmers to upload via the link we send.

  • Select your music from our library before submitting footage.

  • Return the DJI recorder promptly if you have purchased the Audio Add-On.

  • Download and back up your finished film and raw footage as soon as they are delivered.
